Frequently ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS SCREENOGRAPHY?
In essence, screenography is in-game photography of environments and characters. The images are achieved by roaming the lands to find the most interesting or beautiful vistas in any given game. Scrollography is the sister site to Screenographic, founded in 2017, which focuses on images from The Elder Scrolls Online, Skyrim and Final Fantasy XIV.
WHAT IS RESHADE & DOES IT BREAK TOS?
ReShade is an advanced, fully generic post-processing injector for games and video software developed by crosire. Imagine your favorite game with ambient occlusion, real depth of field effects, color correction and more … ReShade exposes an automated and generic way to access both frame color and depth information (latter is automatically disabled during multiplayer to prevent exploitation) and all the tools to make it happen. – ReShade.me
In other words, it’s a live post-processing program that will enhance a game’s graphical output by means of an overlay with adjustable parameters.
Always check! Before using ReShade with any program I have either checked the game’s forums for confirmation of use from a Community Manager or asked a CM directly. Better to be safe than sorry!
HOW DO you USE RESHADE?
Aeyvi has written a selection of guides about the ReShade installation, the general settings and an in-depth look at the depth of field settings.

WHERE CAN you LEARN MORE ABOUT SCREENSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY?
Learning about photography principles can only strengthen your knowledge and skill when it comes to screenshot photography. The most important thing is that you are happy with your image, so technical photography is something to consider but this doesn’t mean you have to stick to it like glue. Some artists purposely disregard it in favour of using their eyes and heart to produce their work.
Having said that though, there are many excellent videos on YouTube that cover colour theory, framing, depth of field and so on. Online educators such as Lynda and Udemy offer photography courses. There are also several reasonably priced and very informative photography principle course books available on Amazon.
Are The images considered bad if you don't use ReShade?
No, no, no. So much more goes into any photograph or screenshot than just a filter. Those who make filters often have a goal in mind and use them to replicate photographic processing or edits that would be performed later.
Comparisons between ReShade and manual edits are often made on Aeyvi’s streams to show the difference, more often than not the light manual edits shot looks better. When presented to a person blindly, they often can’t tell which has ReShade and which one hasn’t.
